Michigan / TannerThe Michigan ( Upper ) and Tanner ( Lower ) Splints were developed with the object of treating dysfunction of the TMJ, muscle, and to control bruxism. We have developed a process of manufacture that is extremely robust and virtually eliminates the need for metal clasping in most cases. It is most common to have buccal cusp contact in CR (Centric Relation). On lateral excursive movements the canine guidance ramps allow disocclusion of all posterior and anterior teeth by approximately 1 mm giving even intensity posterior contacts with canine guidance and anterior protrusive guidance to disclude all teeth.

'B' SplintThe B-Splint is used for harmonisation of occluso – muscular disorders and comprises of an upper and lower appliance. The posterior teeth are fully covered, providing retention for the appliance. The lower splint has a flat bite plane along the central incisal region and the upper has a ramp over the central incisal area resulting in no posterior contact. This provides a smooth transition into excursive movements and consequently muscle activity is reduced.
